ABOUT THE EVENTS
The duration and requirements of each race has evolved as the rules have changed over the years, the current format is two races of 90 minutes, no battery change but a minimum of three drivers and each must drive for at least 30 minutes in each race.
The team consists of school staff, volunteer parents and school children from year 7 (aged 11) to sixth formers (aged 18 plus). The team are required to make 2 pits stops per race, so every team member has a role, from drivers to pit crew, to time keepers to runners, the team have evolved the roles to be the fastest in the pit stops as well as on the track.
The team races four cars, each following a different design ethos, using light weight materials and a monocoque chassis. The Silver Bullet is an open wheeled car, designed to be a small and light as possible, driven by the smallest lightest drivers.
